ZKsync Lite Scheduled for Full Deprecation on May 4
ZKsync Lite – a first-generation, zero-knowledge-powered Ethereum Layer 2 scaling solution developed by cryptography group Matter Labs – will be fully deprecated on May 4.
What's the Scoop?
- Frozen State: Today, ZKsync confirmed that block production on its "ZKsync Lite" will stop on May 4, permanently freezing the final state of the network in time. This deprecation was previously announced in December, and will not impact any other ZKsync ecosystem systems, such as Era and Prividiums.
- Withdraw Soon: ZKsync highly advises users to withdraw before May 4. Assets that are not withdrawn before this off date will remain fully claimable, with claiming tools released immediately after block production stops.
- Ongoing Support: A read-only ZKsync Lite API will remain available for at least one year following the shutdown.
