World, previously called Worldcoin, has surpassed 10 million unique World ID human verifications through its hardware and software platform.

What’s the Scoop?

  • Total Users: The World App has been downloaded by more than 20M users and the organization has verified over 10M humans in over 160 different countries.
  • How it Works: The project uses small orbs to scan people’s eyeballs to verify them as unique humans.
  • Trending Area: One of the highest trending areas for World projects has been Brazil, which has shown high interest in the crypto space

Bankless Take:

One of the central issues that the World Project is attempting to tackle is discerning AI from humans. As technology continues to advance, it gets harder and harder to distinguish between the two, something that will likely only be further highlighted as AI agents are able to communicate fairly similarly to humans as we have seen on Twitter over the past couple of months. With over 10M humans verified so far, World is making major progress on an audacious vision.
