Let's Play Treeverse: How to Get Started with Immutable's New MMORPG

I love games, and in crypto, I've noticed that great games tend to pull me deeper into the chains they’re built on.
Axie Infinity pulled me into Ronin, Fren Pet drew me into Base, and Eternum immersed me in Starknet.
I’ve dabbled with Immutable zkEVM before, but I’d been waiting for the right game to truly hook me. Now, with the Treeverse alpha live and ready for testing, I feel that pull.
So, let’s get you up to speed in case you want to dive in too.

🌳 What is Treeverse?
The origins of Treeverse date back to Loopify's 2021 NFT collection, NFTrees, which were to be the center of a virtual social hub.
As interest grew, Loopify's team saw bigger potential. Later in 2021, they pivoted to building a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) that blends open world gameplay and onchain ownership.
An official studio was formed, Endless Clouds, and they've been developing Treeverse ever since.
In 2024, Loopify announced Treeverse would be deploying on the Immutable zkEVM, which offers fast and cheap in-game transactions and streamlined wallet UX via Immutable Passport.
Then in March 2025, the game finally debuted its early access alpha on the Epic Games Store (PC) and Google Play (Android). Now players can get their first taste of Treeverse's progression tree system, weapons crafting mechanics, and Player vs. Environment (PvE) dungeons.

⚔️ How to get started
Treeverse is planning a rewards campaign, and all player data from the early access alpha will be reset prior to that campaign's launch.
Accordingly, the name of the game for now is getting a feel for the basic gameplay mechanics so you can hit the ground running once rewards start flowing.
To begin here, download your preferred version of the game at the Epic Games Store or Google Play. I like playing on the computer, so I went the Epic route. If mobile is more your speed and you have an Android device, try Google Play.
Then sign in with your Immutable Passport account for easy login and asset management. After this, set up your character's name and looks, and then you'll be dropped into Lorwick Town, Treeverse's starting city.
Your first quests will center around crafting an Iron Sword and Shield.

Speak to Nicolo in the center of Lorwick (e.g. on the computer "F" key is the interact button), who will send you to retrieve some logs and pebbles. You can find these resources right outside Lorwick to the southwest.
With these spoils in hand, you can then head to the Blacksmith just to the northeast of Nicolo and have him craft your first sword and shield.
Nicolo will then dispatch you to defeat 2 beetles and 2 slimes in the Greater Lorwick wilds to finish up your starter quests.
At this point, you can start grinding for better weapons and fighting in the dungeons outside the city. To level up fast and take on the hardest monsters, Cyberdevil of Good Game Hunters recommends teaming up with higher-ranked friends who can help carry you.

🧠 Zooming out
There are a few things to keep an eye on here, like the upcoming Treeverse rewards campaign and the activation of support for NFT assets and Player vs. Player (PvP) combat.
We also already know that Endless Cloud is planning a premium token, $END, that will be supplemented by other in-game currencies. Expect more announcements on these assets in the near future.
For now, try the game and see what you think ahead of these big updates. The graphics are charming and the gameplay is really approachable, so this is one that I think anyone can dive into!
