Time.fun is an onchain "time marketplace" on Solana. On the platform, creators, builders, influencers, etc. can create markets for their time and earn when people redeem their time tokens.

On the flip side, users can acquire these time tokens and use them to get special access to their preferred experts. This access can come via 1-on-1 direct messages, video calls, group chats, gated livestreams, and service auctions.

Plus, you can just hold and speculate on these tokens, too. For example, if you bet Solana cofounder Anatoly Yakovenko's time is going to stay in high demand, you can buy his time tokens to long that demand.

The markets of the time tokens themselves are automatically managed along a bonding curve. Buys push the prices up, sells push the prices down. Additionally, creators earn a cut of their markets' trading fees on top of their redemption earnings.

The platform is a great avenue to consider if you're, say, working on a new project and want some expedited feedback from a builder you respect.

You can go beyond feedback here, too. For instance, renowned design wiz and vibe coder 0xDesigner recently launched a Time.fun auction, with the winning number of minutes bid determining how long he'd spend vibe coding the winner's app idea.

Cool opportunity! And it demonstrates the kind of tangible value you can get through Time.fun beyond simply trading time tokens.

If you're interested in checking the platform out for yourself, head over to its website and press the "Get Started" button in its upper right corner. Then enter your preferred email to create an account and pick a username.

Once your profile and embedded wallet are created, you can start diving in. Head to the "Portfolio" tab and use its "Deposit" button to load your account with USDC for making payments. You can send from another Solana address or use the provided debit card or Apple Pay options.

With your USDC ready, you can buy your first time tokens. Let's say I wanted to lock in some quick advice from SHILLR cofounder funghibull. I'd head over to his profile, and check out his prices.

For instance, it's 80 minutes (~$1o) to open a DM convo with him right now, so to proceed you'd simply buy the amount of minutes you require in the trading UI on the right side of the page.

Then in your target creator's profile, click on the access option you want—"Direct Message" for my example—and doing so will bring you to a redemption modal like so:

You can even include a tip if you want your message to have a higher priority, and if you never receive a response you can kickoff a refund process after 5 days have passed.

The redemption modals for all the different access options, like group chats and calls, are all slightly different. But the redemption flow is generally the same across the board: buy time tokens, select your access option, and then proceed per the prompted instructions.

Conversely, if you're keen to create a market for your time, head to your Time.fun profile, press "Edit Profile," then click on "My Time Market" and "Launch Market." Now, you'll be brought to a page where you can setup pricing for your desired offers, like responding to DMs.

Keep in mind, if there are particular services you don't want to provide, like video calls, just don't setup pricing for them during this phase. You can also opt to automatically donate a portion of your earnings to select charities at this screen.

When you're ready to move on, press "Continue." It'll cost 10 USDC to officially launch your time market. Confirm the spend, and voila! Your market will be live like so:

All in all, it's straightforward to get started on Time.fun, and there's real utility here by being able to directly connect with experts and bigwigs around the space. The speculative potential of time tokens is compelling, too.

With this trifecta in mind, consider taking the platform for a spin sometime if you're ever on the hunt for professional help or just wanting to try a cool Solana app that you haven't explored before!
