SharpLink Adds $177M in ETH to Holdings

The Joe Lubin-helmed Ethereum treasury firm now holds over 837K ether.

SharpLink Gaming (SBET) continued expanding its Ethereum holdings last week, purchasing 39,008 ETH at an average price of $4,531 — an estimated $177 million acquisition. The move lifts its total ether balance to 837,230 ETH, worth approximately $3.6 billion.

What’s the Scoop?

  • Funded via Equity Sales: SharpLink funded the purchase using $46.6 million in net proceeds from its at-the-market equity program for the week ended Aug. 31. The firm still has $71.6 million in cash on hand to buy more ether.
  • Staking Yields: Since launching its ETH treasury strategy in June, SharpLink has earned 2,318 ETH in staking rewards.
  • Leadership and Backing: Ethereum co-founder and Consensys CEO Joseph Lubin became Chairman in May after SharpLink raised $425 million in a private round.
