Pudgy Penguins Launches Free-to-Play Browser Game 'Pudgy World'
Today, Pudgy Penguins declared that Pudgy World – the NFT brand's free-to-play browser-based game that was first announced in 2023 – is finally live.
What's the Scoop?
- Next Chapter: According to an announcement posted to X, "Pudgy World is the exciting next chapter in expanding the Pudgy Penguins audience," and is, "one of the most technically advanced browser-based games ever created." The game features 12 unique towns across "The Berg," plot-based quests where players help Pengu find Polly, and mini-games.
- Trademark Dispute: Last week, Pudgy Penguins Inc. was sued by Penguin apparel parent company PEI Licensing, who alleges the NFT brand has committed trademark infringement by selling clothing labeled with confusingly similar terms.
- Ecosystem Pump: Amid broader crypto market strength today, the Pudgy Penguins ecosystem outperformed. At the time of writing, the PENGU token was up 9% on the day. While Pudgy Penguin NFT floor prices (denominated in Ether) were flat, the currency itself was up 5% on the day.
