Dear Bankless Nation,

Happy April Fool’s Day!

As you can imagine, there’s been a lot of fun pranks around the NFT ecosystem today. My favorite this year was dealt by the Azuki project, which airdropped mysterious NFTs to Azuki holders and then told everyone to refresh the NFTs’ metadata.

Upon refreshing this morning, the NFTs’ art turned into opened boxes of dust. Ouch! Of course, Azuki won’t leave everyone hanging, there’s surely another refresh event coming. They definitely surprised a few people at first, though!

The prank is fun, but it’s also a great reminder to always pay attention to how NFT projects approach metadata. There’s no right or wrong way per se, though some avenues are indeed mutable.

Anyways, I hope everyone has a great weekend, and thanks kindly for reading Metaversal. Be well and stay creative!
