Monad’s long-awaited Layer 1 blockchain is slated to go live on November 24, 2025, alongside the distribution of its native MON token.

What's the scoop?

  • Big Launch Date: Per a team member's comments to The Block, Monad’s public mainnet and MON airdrop will arrive Nov. 24, following months of buildup around its high-speed, Ethereum Virtual Machine-compatible network.
  • Massive Distribution: Over 225,000 verified crypto users and 5,500 Monad community members are eligible, spanning power users of Aave, Hyperliquid, Morpho, Pump.fun, Uniswap, and beyond.
  • The Tech Intrigue: Monad’s custom parallel execution engine and MonadDb system promise sub-second finality while remaining fully EVM-compatible, a blend of speed and reach.
  • Pre-Market Trading: On Hyperliquid, traders are already speculating on the unlaunched MON token via the MON-USDC hyperp contract. At the time of writing, MON was priced around $0.06 per token here and funding rates remained near neutral, meaning longs and shorts are basically balanced for now.

Bankless take:

Monad’s debut is set to be one of the most-watched L1 launches in recent years. If the real-world performance of the chain matches the buzz, it'll redefine expectations for what’s possible on Ethereum-compatible chains. In the meantime, the big question is what market cap the network opens at.
