Monad Kicks Off MON Airdrop Claims as Mainnet Launch Nears
The Monad Foundation has opened the claim portal for its MON token airdrop, allowing over 230k eligible recepients to verify and reserve allocations ahead of the network’s public mainnet launch. The portal will remain open for three weeks.
What’s the Scoop?
- Airdrop Claim Now Live: The claim portal at claim.monad.xyz went live Tuesday and will stay open until November 3. The portal phase is for verification only, with MON tokens set to become transferable later this year once mainnet launches.
- Eligibility Details: Over 230k addresses across five categories are eligible, including Monad community members, onchain DeFi users, crypto contributors, and builders. Airdrop recipients include users of major DeFi protocols such as Aave, Pendle, Morpho, Uniswap, PancakeSwap, Curve, and Hyperliquid, as well as holders of notable NFT collections like CryptoPunks, Pudgy Penguins, and Mad Lads.
- Mainnet on Deck: While MON distributions won’t occur until after the claim phase, the airdrop marks the final stage before public mainnet. Monad promises up to 10k TPS and one-second block times, positioning it as a next-generation Ethereum-compatible chain.
