Crypto exchange Kraken has acquired proprietary trading firm Breakout, The Block reports.

What’s the Scoop?

  • Funded accounts model: Breakout offers qualified users up to $100,000 in trading capital per account (or $200,000 across multiple accounts) with no upfront capital, as long as they pass risk-controlled assessments. Traders can retain up to 90% of their profits.
  • CT founder team: Breakout was launched in 2023 by well-known industry traders TraderMayne, CryptoCred, Alex Miningham, and Abetrade.
  • Kraken integration ahead: Breakout will be integrated into Kraken Pro over time. Co-CEO Arjun Sethi described the move as a shift toward capital allocation based on “proof of skill,” emphasizing the platform’s transparency and scalability for serious traders.
