Farcaster's Big Week

Earlier this week, I wrote about how Frames V2 could be a big catalyst for the Farcaster ecosystem. But take note, because this onchain social network has multiple advances working in its favor right now.

  • For instance, the Farcaster team just launched their Snapchain testnet, which uses the new Malachite consensus engine and lays the groundwork for eventually supporting 1 million daily users.
  • Another big boon just came by way of Warpcast absorbing Super. The former is the flagship Farcaster app, while the latter has been the leading community-built client. Now that the two teams have joined forces, look for Warpcast to become that much more excellent.
  • Then one of the biggest announcements this week was Base declaring that its developers were building a Farcaster feed into Coinbase Wallet. This meld can attract many thousands of new users to Farcaster in the months ahead.
  • Also, Warpcast is continuing to double down on becoming an earnings hub for creators with its revamped USDC rewards program, which is offering $15,000 across the top 1,000 weekly posters. It's a good time to start casting, I say.
