Farcaster's Big NFT Drop

1️⃣ Farcaster releases Pro NFTs
Farcaster recently unveiled its latest onchain update, Pro memberships. Subscribers of this tier will soon be able to enjoy 10k character posts, 4 image embeds per post, and profile banners.
These functionalities are the meat of this premium offering, but Farcaster's first rollout here was a commemorative goodie: Farcaster Pro OG NFTs.
Illustrated by artist Miguelgarest and airdropped to the first 10k Pro subscribers this week, the NFT itself is merely a badge of earliness, but that didn't stop a trading frenzy. With 150 ETH trading volume so far, the collection briefly reached a floor price of ~0.2 ETH before coming back down toward ~0.08 ETH.
It's possible projects in the Farcaster community will build around this onchain reputation set, so let's see if the story is just beginning here.

2️⃣ CryptoPunks Discord migration
Nearly a month after non-profit NODE acquired the CryptoPunks IP, the foundation is following through on its “Punks to the people” credo.
That's because this week, NODE kicked off the ownership transfer of the 21k-member CryptoPunks Discord to the volunteer moderators who’ve nurtured the server since 2017.
The move completes the cultural hand-off that started with Yuga Labs’ sale of the brand: NODE stewards the art and licensing, while day-to-day social life now lives in the hands of Punks holders themselves. It’s a small but symbolic win for the cryptoart community.

3️⃣ Pudgy Penguins hot streak
On the heels of notching 20 billion GIF views in May, the Pudgy Penguins have continued their dominant stride in style.
Indeed, this week saw The Huddle at the center of a series of significant mainstream partnerships, including:
- A deal with Walgreens bringing Pudgy Penguins Toys to 2k new U.S. stores
- A partnership with Luftansa offering flyer rewards for Pudgy Shop purchases
- A partnership with NASCAR to "bring Pengu to NASCAR fans worldwide"
Plus, Pengu Clash, the Pudgys-themed Telegram game that already has 2 million signups, announced June 18th as its launch date. If the Pudgy Penguins community stays this teeming, The Huddle will certainly be in good shape for years to come.

4️⃣ OpenSea deprecates Deals
NFT marketplace giant OpenSea just published a blog post, Saying Goodbye to OS1.
With OpenSea's O2 rebuild now the default marketplace infra, the team announced that the legacy Os1 site will be switched off on June 16th.
As part of the sunsetting, a series of features will be retired including peer-to-peer “Deals,” English auctions, multi-currency listings, testnet support, and the old shopping cart.
Notably, the OS crew said they wouldn't rule out bringing Deals back down the road, but for now it’s full steam ahead on a leaner, more optimized marketplace.

5️⃣ Rodeo adds tool tags
Rodeo, the onchain social app centered around creating and collecting NFTs on Base, just released its latest feature update: tool tags.
The functionality lets users easily highlight which tools went into making their pieces, like the creative p5.js JavaScript library or AI image generators like ChatGPT and Midjourney.
Additionally, Rodeo just released a related functionality in Discussions, which are like community forum feeds that are launched for every tool the platform supports tagging with. The team plans to continue iterating around tools, so stay tuned here if you're an NFT minter.
