Ethereum’s per-block gas limit has climbed to 37.3M, with nearly 50% of staked validators now signaling for a jump to 45M ahead of Fusaka Devnet 3 – marking a significant test for Mainnet capacity and client stability.

What’s the Scoop?

  • Validators Signal Support: Roughly 47-49% of Ethereum validators have indicated support for a 45 million gas limit, up from the current 37.3M, as part of the “pump the gas” movement.
  • Client Rollout Underway: Core client teams (Prysm, Nimbus, Lodestar, Lighthouse) have committed to integrate the 45M cap by the end of July to prep for Devnet 3 stress tests.
  • Next Scaling Milestone: Fusaka Devnet 3’s July 21-22 tests will stress high-capacity blocks, paving the way for future L1 scaling steps toward 60M+ gas limits.
