Ethereum Foundation executive "co-steward" Josh Stark and Protocol Guild member Trent Van Epps announced their resignations from the EF earlier this week, the latest in a series of high-profile departures.

What's the Scoop?

  • Latest Hit: Josh Stark, a "co-steward" of the Ethereum Foundation's leadership team, and Trent Van Epps, a member of the organization's Protocol Guild grants arm, both announced their resignations from the non-profit ecosystem development support group earlier this week. Stark will remain on through April and has "made no plans for the future, other than taking a long break to reset and spending time with my family & friends." Van Epps, who departed the EF last Friday, will continue working within Ethereum "as long as funding is available."
  • Community Speculation: Although neither Stark nor Van Epps provided a rationale for their resignations, some on Crypto Twitter have speculated potential disagreements with the recently published EF Mandate.
  • Previous Departure: Less than one year after assuming the role of Ethereum Foundation co-executive director, Tomasz K. Stańczak announced his resignation from the role and departure from the Ethereum Foundation in February.
