The Blockchain Leadership Fund, a political action committee backed by Chainlink Labs and Anchorage Digital, released its first batch of endorsements today, backing ten candidates across both parties amidst the U.S. midterm elections.

What's the Scoop?

  • The PAC: Started in March, the Blockchain Leadership Fund was formed to back candidates working to advance digital asset and blockchain policy. Chainlink Labs and Anchorage Digital are its primary backers.
  • The Endorsements: BLF is backing four Senate candidates: Barry Moore (R-AL), Kurt Alme (R-MT), Jon Husted (R-OH), and Angie Craig (D-MN). On the House side, the PAC is endorsing Houston Gaines (R-GA), Jim Kingston (R-GA), Jon Bonck (R-TX), Adrian Boafo (D-MD), Christian Menefee (D-TX), and Don Davis (D-NC).
  • Bipartisan Importance of the Craig Pick: Craig is cited to be the most important nomination, given she is a Ranking Member on the House Agriculture Committee, one of the primary committees for crypto market-structure legislation, and co-introduced the bipartisan CLARITY Act. She is now running for a Minnesota Senate seat, where a pro-crypto Democrat carries more leverage than another Republican ally. Polymarket gives her a 16% chance of winning the Democratic primary.
