Coinbase has acquihired the founders of Sensible, a crypto yield platform, in its seventh acquihire or acquisition this year — reinforcing its bid to become a one-stop shop for all things onchain, The Block reports.

What’s the Scoop?

  • Team Acqui-Hired: Sensible co-founders Jacob Frantz and Zachary Salmon have joined Coinbase to help lead its onchain consumer product strategy. Sensible will shut down by October 10.
  • Consumer DeFi Focus: Coinbase said the pair will work on simplifying DeFi access and building user-facing onchain experiences, drawing on Sensible’s background in DeFi-powered yield products.
  • Seventh Deal This Year: The deal marks Coinbase’s seventh acquisition or acquihire in 2025, following Liquifi, Spindl, Deribit, and others, as it races to build out its “everything exchange” vision.
