The Best Creator Tools on Base

I was originally drawn to crypto as a creator, and I’ve stuck around ever since because of all the amazing experiments and possibilities here.
That said, I totally agree that Ethereum and Base are incredible tech for creatives. Lots of apps build on Base, and Base builds on Ethereum. This is a scene you want to know your way around if you’ve got projects or creations you’re keen to release.

Relatedly, I’ve had some artist friends recently ask me about apps on Base that they should explore. I did some thinking and came up with the 25 projects I would want to know about if I was getting started on Base today.
You can use this “starter pack” to refer back to or to put your creative friends on if they ever have questions on where they might dive in. I’ll briefly explain the reasoning behind each of my picks below.
Content Management
- 🐤 Bountycaster — Got a project you’re cooking up, but need some graphic design help? Or help of any kind? Bountycaster is a bounties platform built on Farcaster that makes it easy to run your own gigs or complete tasks for other creators
- 📝 Fileverse — Fileverse creates decentralized collaboration infra, like Notion but onchain; their new dDocs platform is an interesting choice if you want to make and publish documents in totally decentralized fashion
- 🎴 Hypersub — This is the leading onchain subscriptions platform on Base; subscriptions are maintained as NFTs, so your supporters can choose to support you over different time periods by minting the NFTs you set up here
- 📣 Megaphone — Among other things, Megaphone allows for easily creating decentralized forms, e.g. allowlists, signups, surveys, and beyond
- 📚 Paragraph — An onchain publishing platform that’s great for publishing project announcements, articles, etc., and posts can be collected by your fans as NFTs
- 🎧 Pods — The leading onchain podcasts platform; if you have your own podcast and are interested in getting your content up here, Pods has a signup form you can find at the bottom of the homepage
DAOs
- 🤝 Aragon — One of the oldest and most battle-tested DIY decentralized org deployers in crypto, Aragon offers a simple creation flow for launching your own DAO on Base
- 😎 Nouns Builder — If you want something a little different from the Aragon flow, you can consider Nouns Builder, an open deployer stack you can use to launch a DAO with customizable parameters per the Nouns DAO model
- ✅ Snapshot — A DAO governance suite, Snapshot is a good resource if you’re looking for a streamlined home for your community’s governance proposals and votes
DeFi
- 🚴 Aerodrome — One of the leading decentralized exchanges on Base; if you ever get around to launching an ERC-20 token for your community, this is a hotspot you can consider for setting up a liquidity pool
- 🦄 Uniswap — It’s the same idea here as with Aerodrome, Uniswap is the Ethereum ecosystem’s darling DEX and it’s another excellent option if you’re ever looking to set up your own liquidity pool
- 🌉 Relay — If you ever find yourself needing to move funds into or out of Base, Relay by the Reservoir team is a fast and cheap bridge that’s slick for newcomers and experts alike
NFT Minting
- 🎨 Highlight — If you’re an artist and you want to release 1/1s, large collections, generative art, or fully onchain pieces, Highlight offers the most flexibility in the Base NFT minting landscape today
- 🎉 Party — Party lets you crowdfund ETH to launch a token, invest as an onchain group, or launch NFT Sets with different rarities or NFT Packs that people can open to reveal
- 🤠 Rodeo — Rodeo is akin to a streamlined Instagram, but built on Base; it’s a great place to drop interesting or extra content that your fans can collect as inexpensive NFTs
- ✨ Zora — Zora is also similar to an onchain Instagram, and it has a rising mobile app with really impressive UX; the team behind Zora and its large user base makes this one of the most promising minting avenues available to you
NFT Marketplaces
- 🎆 Magic Eden — If you release an NFT collection on Base, you can find the collection on the Magic Eden marketplace and use its market page link as a safe community resource for secondary buyers and sellers
- 🌊 OpenSea — Same idea as with Magic Eden, OpenSea is a big trading hub for NFT collections on Base; you can also use the “Profile” page to easily review NFTs that you’ve collected on the L2
- 🦾 Sudoswap — This is a decentralized liquidity protocol for NFTs; you can use it create customizable liquidity pools for NFT collections you create, generally similar to how Uniswap works for fungible ERC-20s
Social
- 📊 EFP — a.k.a The Ethereum Follow Protocol, this is an onchain social graph built atop Base that you can use to build up and manage a list of your biggest fans
- 👁️🗨️ Interface — A social trading platform where you can track what other creators are doing on Base and let your followers track your onchain activity on the L2
- 📱 Warpcast — Warpcast is the leading Farcaster client, its UX is similar to Twitter, and it’s home to a tremendous amount of Base community activity; if you’re looking for places to share your creations or content, this is one app you can’t ignore
Tokens
- 🤖 Clanker — This is an AI agent you can prompt with basic text instructions on any Farcaster app, like Warpcast, in order to instantly launch your own token; it’s an easy avenue if you want to launch a community token but aren’t a developer
- 💥 Flaunch — A token launcher platform built atop the new Uniswap V4 infra, Flaunch offers a lot of interesting flexibility to token creators like buy-and-burn options and earning trading revenues in ETH without any sell pressure
- ⛽ Gaslite Drop — Let’s say you’ve created your own token and you have a large allocation that you want to start distributing to your community; this platform makes the airdropping process easy
- 🔐 Safe — One of the easiest ways to setup a smart multi-signature wallet on an Ethereum L2 like Base; this is a great way to secure funds, whether you’re handling a community treasury or just safeguarding your own holdings
