Aave Labs, the centralized development company behind blockchain-based lending marketplace Aave, just published an "Aave Will Win Framework" to the DAO's governance portal.

What's the Scoop?

  • Broad Strokes: In the words of Aave Labs, this latest governance submission details, "a strategic framework proposal for Aave’s next chapter." It proposes that Aave DAO receive 100% of all Aave Labs "product revenue", implores Aave DAO to ratify the strategic direction of V4, seeks to create a foundation to steward the Aave brand, and (most contentiously) seeks the transfer of $25M cash and 75K AAVE (~$33.3M) from the DAO to Labs to fund various costs.
  • Community Pushback: The proposal appears dead-on-arrival with some Aave DAO members. Notable community steward and Aave Chan Initiative founder Marc Zeller criticized the proposal for raiding one-quarter of the DAO's treasury in exchange for undefined/intangible future revenues and "zero enforceable commitments."
